Saratoga is built on a peninsula with water on three sides, and most of the suburb runs uphill from the shoreline. That layout produces windows you don’t see much of in the flatter parts of the Coast: tall living-room glass, stairwell voids, raked openings above the entry, and upstairs rooms that hold the best of the view.
Those are the windows that get quoted high, or knocked back. One of our Google reviews puts it plainly: the height of the windows didn’t faze Bryn, where some other companies weren’t willing to do the job. He measures them and he installs them, so nothing gets lost between the person who took the measurements and the person on the ladder.
Aspect changes the brief too. Rooms facing west across Brisbane Water take reflected afternoon light through summer, while the eastern side of the peninsula looks over Kincumber Broadwater and gets the early sun instead. Same suburb, two different fabric conversations. On a west-facing lounge we’ll usually talk about a sunscreen or sheer to hold the view, with something solid behind it for the evening.
Adek Blinds & Curtains works out of Kincumber, same postcode as Saratoga, a few minutes around the water. Bryn brings the sample box to the house, and it can stay overnight if you want to see the colours in your own light before you decide.
Every blind is measured on site and made to the exact opening, which matters on a peninsula where very few window sizes repeat.
The workhorse for Saratoga's upstairs living rooms. A sunscreen roller cuts the glare off the water without closing the room down, and a dual set adds a blockout behind it on the same bracket for night.
Still the practical answer for wide sliding doors out to a deck or balcony, and easy to walk through when the door is in constant use.
Wide fabric panels that slide along a track, suited to the long spans of glass in newer builds along the shoreline and up the slope.
Alternating sheer and blockout bands on one roller, so you can shift from filtered light to privacy without a second product. A good fit for bedrooms with a view you'd rather not lose during the day.
A softer, more tailored finish for bedrooms and studies. Worth considering where a room has a lot of hard surfaces and needs the sound taken out of it.
Adjustable slats give you the finest control of any product here, which is useful when the sun tracks across a west-facing room over a couple of hours rather than hitting it all at once.
Curtains do the softening that blinds can’t, and on a sloping block they also help with the acoustics of a tall room.
The usual first choice for a water-facing lounge. Sheers hold the daytime privacy and take the hard edge off the glare while leaving the view intact. They don't provide privacy after dark, which is why we generally pair them.
Even, rolling folds on a track, which reads well across a long wall of glass. We supply Silent Gliss track where the span or the weight of the fabric calls for it.
Worth it in bedrooms on the western side. A lined blockout curtain shuts out both the late light and a fair bit of the summer heat, and it makes a real difference in a room with single glazing.
On a sloping block the deck and the upper windows catch the sun well before the rest of the house does. Shutters handle it room by room, and awnings stop the heat outside the glass instead of after it’s already in.
Neat, adjustable, and permanent-looking. Shutters suit the front rooms of Saratoga's older homes, and they handle the awkward small windows on a stair landing better than a blind does.
On a sloping block the deck usually catches the afternoon sun before the house does. Stopping the heat outside the glass works better than fighting it inside.
Elevated coastal homes deal with glare, salt air, and strong westerly sun. We recommend fabrics and hardware rated for exactly that.
We won't specify something that blacks out the outlook you paid for. Sheers, adjustable slats, and layered options protect the room without hiding the water.

We cover Saratoga and the villages either side of it, including Yattalunga, Davistown, Green Point, Kincumber and Bensville. Alongside blinds and curtains we also supply shutters and awnings, so the inside and the outside of the house can be handled by one person.
If you’d rather compare fabrics and operating styles in person first, you’re welcome to visit the showroom at 10d Bilinga Road, Kincumber, by appointment. It’s a short drive from Saratoga village and there’s no obligation attached.
Your blinds, curtains, shutters or awnings are made to the exact openings, with fabric and operating hardware chosen for the room they're going into.
Your blinds or curtains are made to suit your exact measurements, with fabrics and fittings selected for everyday comfort, privacy and light control.
We install, test every blind and track, take the old product away if there is any, and leave the place clean.
Choosing new blinds and curtains shouldn’t drag on for months. We keep it clear and practical: one visit, one written price, one person accountable from the measure to the install.
Yes. Tall stairwell voids and raked openings are a regular part of the work in Saratoga, and they’re often the reason people call us after another installer has declined the job. Bryn measures and installs these himself.
A sunscreen roller blind or a sheer curtain will cut the reflected afternoon glare while keeping the outlook, and a blockout behind it closes the room down at night. We match the fabric openness to how hard that particular window gets hit.
Yes, and it’s worth planning for. We’ll specify one backing colour across every window facing the street or the water, then vary the room-side fabric level by level if you want to.
For anything out of arm’s reach, yes. A manual blind on a void window tends to get set once and never adjusted again, which defeats the purpose of fitting it. We install Somfy motorisation on selected styles.
Yes. We cover the whole peninsula, including Yattalunga, Davistown and Green Point, plus Kincumber and Bensville on the other side of the Broadwater.
Saratoga is a few minutes from our Kincumber showroom, so a measure is usually easy to book within days. Enquiries get a response within 24 hours.
Yes. We remove the existing blinds or tracks and install the new product in the same visit, and we take the old ones with us.
Price depends on the size of the openings, the product and the fabric, so the honest answer comes from the measure. The measure and the written quote are free, and there’s no obligation attached to either.
We supply Hunter Douglas, Luxaflex, Silhouette, Silent Gliss, Verosol, Somfy, Inika and Logic among others, and we’ll tell you which of them suits your particular window rather than pushing one line.
Yes. Cordless and motorised options remove hanging cords entirely, and we recommend them as standard in family homes.
