You’ve put in the big glass, the higher ceilings and the new floors. Then the old pinch pleats go back up, or the gathered curtains from the last house, and the room suddenly looks ten years older than it is.
S-fold curtains fix that. The fabric runs on a track with evenly spaced carriers, so it falls into the same soft wave from the top of the track to the floor. Open, it stacks back neatly beside the window. Closed, it looks the same across the whole span. You’ll also hear it called wave fold or ripple fold. Same thing.
Renovations and new builds rarely run to plan. When a handover slips, we store the finished curtains until the house is ready and come back to install them. That flexibility is part of the job, and it’s the kind of work we’ve been doing on the Coast at Adek Blinds & Curtains for 30+ years.
S-fold is one heading style within our wider curtain range. It works with sheer fabrics, blockout fabrics, or both on a twin track.
Pleated and gathered headings bunch at the top and flare at the hem. S-fold keeps the wave consistent the whole way down, which is why it looks right on tall windows and full-height glass.
When they're open, S-fold curtains stack into a tidy bundle beside the window instead of a heavy clump. More of the glass stays clear, and the view stays yours.
S-fold is the heading, not the fabric. Run it with a sheer for filtered daylight, a blockout for bedrooms, or both on two tracks for day and night.
Square-set ceilings, ceiling-fixed tracks and floor-to-ceiling fabric are where S-fold earns its keep. It's the clean, pared-back look most people are after in a renovation.

Whoever quotes your job is the one who comes back to fit it. No salesperson handing your measurements to a subcontractor, no one to blame if the drop is out.
30+ years in the same trade, in the same town, under the same name. Our Google reviews are full of repeat customers, which is the part you can check for yourself.
We supply and install Hunter Douglas, Luxaflex, Silhouette, Silent Gliss, Verosol, Somfy, Inika and Logic. We'll tell you which one suits your room and which one is overkill.
We still get calls about curtains we made more than a decade ago. Custom work on a properly specified track outlasts anything off a shelf, and our reviews bear that out.
A good S-fold is set up before the fabric is even made. Carrier spacing, ceiling or wall fixing, twin tracks for a sheer and a blockout, motorisation for long spans. We spec the track to the window, not the other way round.
We bring the samples to your house and give you time to choose. You decide when you're ready. Nobody will chase you.
A lot of our S-fold work lands in renovations and new builds, where the ceilings are higher and the glass runs wider than the old house ever had. We fit them in Terrigal, Wamberal, Avoca Beach, Copacabana, Kincumber and Empire Bay, often as part of a whole-house fit-out.
We also put S-fold into established homes in Erina, Gosford, East Gosford and Wyoming, usually to replace tired pinch pleats or old tracks with something cleaner and easier to open every day.
Want to see how the folds sit before you commit? Come by the Kincumber showroom and we’ll show you the heading alongside sheer and blockout fabrics.
We come to your house with samples, check your ceiling, reveal and window span, and measure up. No pressure to decide anything on the day.
Once you're happy with the fabric, the fold and the track, your S-fold curtains are made to order to your measurements.
We come back and fit the track and the curtains ourselves. Same phone number if you ever need us again.
If something isn’t right after we’ve fitted it, you ring the same number and talk to the people who did the work.
S-fold curtains hang in even, continuous S-shaped waves from the top of the track to the floor. The fabric clips to carriers that are spaced evenly along the track, which sets the depth of every fold. They’re also called wave fold or ripple fold curtains.
Pinch pleats are stitched into clusters at the top, so the fabric fans out as it drops. S-fold has no stitched pleats; the track spacing creates a uniform wave the whole way down. Pinch pleat reads more traditional. S-fold reads cleaner and more contemporary.
Yes. S-fold is the heading style, so it works with most curtain fabrics. Go with sheer curtains for filtered daylight, or blockout curtains for bedrooms and media rooms.
Yes, and it’s a common set-up. The sheer goes on the front track and the blockout on the track behind it. You run the sheer during the day and close the blockout at night.
Yes. S-fold needs a track with carriers spaced to suit the fold. It can’t just hang off a standard rod. If your existing track isn’t suitable, we’ll replace it as part of the job.
Often, yes. It depends on the shape of the bay and the track system. We’ll look at the window on site and tell you straight whether S-fold will sit properly or whether another heading will do the job better.
Where the ceiling allows it, ceiling-fixed tracks give the cleanest floor-to-ceiling look and let more light out around the sides. Wall fixing works well where there’s a bulkhead, cornice or window frame in the way. We’ll recommend what suits your room.
Yes. Motorised tracks make sense for long spans, tall windows, or where you want curtains on a timer. We use Somfy motorisation. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s worth it for your window.
Timeframes depend on fabric choice and order size, but most custom curtains are made and installed within a few weeks. You’ll get a clear timeframe with your quote.
It depends on the window span, the fabric, the track and whether you want a single or double set-up. We’ll give you one fair price in writing after a free measure-up. No inflated list price, no discount theatre.
