Ettalong Beach sits on the channel where Brisbane Water meets Broken Bay, and is the departure point for the Palm Beach ferry. Along The Esplanade and the streets behind the village, older brick unit blocks from the 1970s and 1980s sit beside newer apartment buildings and family homes, many of them facing the water. The village shops and cafes sit along Ocean View Road, a short walk from the beach.
Water-facing windows bring reflected glare, balcony doors are often the largest glass in a unit, and strata by-laws can affect what is visible from outside. Lower-floor units also need privacy from the street and foreshore. Adek Blinds & Curtains works from Kincumber and considers the view, the light and any building rules before recommending blinds, curtains or shutters for each window.
We bring samples to your home and can measure every room in one visit, giving you a single written quote for a full unit or house.
Most Ettalong Beach windows need to reduce the glare reflected off the water while keeping the outlook, and lower-floor units also need daytime privacy from the street and foreshore. We match each blind type to the light, view and privacy needs of the window.
Sunscreen roller blinds reduce glare off the water while keeping the view visible through the fabric. Blockout rollers darken bedrooms, and cassette headrails give a neat finish in unit window frames.
Vertical blinds suit wide balcony sliding doors. The vanes tilt to control light as the sun moves through the day and draw fully aside when the door is in use.
Panel blinds suit full-height balcony doors and large windows facing the water. The fabric panels glide across on a track and stack neatly to one side to open up the view.
Zebra blinds use alternating sheer and solid bands to adjust light and privacy without raising the blind, useful for ground and lower-floor units.
Roman blinds fold up in soft fabric layers and suit bedrooms and the smaller windows found in older Ettalong Beach unit blocks and homes.
Venetian slats can be angled to redirect reflected glare while keeping a view of the water, giving precise light control in living areas.
Curtains reduce glare and add privacy without permanently covering the view. A sheer for daytime and a blockout for night covers most Ettalong Beach living areas on one track.
Sheer curtains soften the glare off the water while keeping the room bright and the outlook visible. They do not provide privacy at night on their own, so we usually pair them with blockouts.
S-fold curtains stack tightly beside balcony doors, keeping the opening clear and giving a neat, even finish across wide glass.
Lined blockout curtains darken bedrooms and add winter warmth, and a pale lining keeps windows consistent from outside the building.
Shutters and awnings control sun and privacy from both sides of the glass. Shutters work inside the unit or home, while awnings shade balconies, courtyards and decks outside.
Plantation shutters give adjustable light and privacy control with a fixed, easy-to-clean finish, suiting lower-floor units facing the street and homes close to the foreshore.
Outdoor awnings shade balconies, courtyards and decks before heat reaches the glass. In strata buildings, owners corporation approval is usually needed first, as awnings change the building's exterior.
Bryn quotes the job, measures every window and installs it himself. Nothing gets lost between the person who took the measurements and the person on the ladder.
We've been fitting blinds and curtains on the Central Coast since 1986, and a fair bit of our work is for customers we first met years ago.
We supply Hunter Douglas, Luxaflex, Silhouette, Silent Gliss, Verosol and Somfy among others, and we'll tell you which suits each window rather than pushing one line.
Tree cover, water glare and raised living areas all change the brief. We recommend fabrics after seeing the room, not from a catalogue.
Every opening is measured on site, older and odd-sized ones included, so the finished product sits neatly in the reveal.
You get a clear, written quote. No inflated sale pricing, no pressure to sign on the day, and no follow-up calls you didn't ask for.
We supply and install blinds, curtains, shutters and awnings throughout Ettalong Beach, from units along The Esplanade to homes in the streets behind the village, and in neighbouring Booker Bay and Umina Beach. Indoor and balcony work, such as curtains and an awning, can be quoted together in one visit.
If you would like to compare fabrics before your measure, you can visit our Kincumber showroom at 10d Bilinga Road by appointment. Measures and installations are available on weekdays and Saturdays, and enquiries receive a reply within 24 hours.
Bryn comes to your house, measures each window and talks through options for light, privacy and view. You get a written price, free.
Your blinds or curtains are made to the measurements taken on site, in the fabrics and fittings you chose from the samples.
We install everything, check each blind and curtain operates smoothly, take the old ones away and leave the rooms clean.
Two visits, one to measure and one to install, with a clear written price in between. Nothing to sign on the day of the measure.
Sunscreen roller blinds, sheer curtains and angled Venetian slats all reduce glare while keeping the outlook visible. We choose the fabric openness based on how much reflected light each window receives.
Possibly. Many NSW strata schemes have an appearance of lot by-law requiring approval for anything visible from outside that is not in keeping with the building. Check your by-laws with your strata manager before ordering.
Vertical blinds give tilt control across the full width. Panel blinds and S-fold curtains stack to one side, leaving the doorway completely clear when it is open.
Roller blinds and plantation shutters need only occasional dusting or wiping. Motorised blinds with a timer can also open and close on a schedule while the unit is empty.
