Yattalunga is a small pocket of streets tucked between Saratoga, Green Point and Kincumber, and most of it climbs away from Brisbane Water under a canopy of old trees. A lot of homes are brick, lifted above a garage level so the living rooms can see the water through the branches. Others are original mid-century bungalows, and a few sit down on the foreshore.
That tree cover changes how light behaves inside. Rooms go bright, then dappled, then dim again as the sun moves across the gum tops, so the right window furnishing has to cope with all three. Adek Blinds & Curtains works from Kincumber, in the same postcode, and we’ll look at each window in the light it actually gets before recommending anything.
Bryn brings the sample box to your house, and it can stay overnight so you can see the fabrics in the morning and the afternoon before you decide.
Yattalunga’s light changes from room to room, dappled through the canopy at one window and reflecting off open water at the next. A blind that works in one spot rarely suits another, so we match each window to the light it actually receives.
A sunscreen roller keeps the view through the trees while cutting the bright patches, and a blockout roller closes a bedroom down completely. Fitted in a cassette, they sit neatly in brick reveals.
A sound choice for the sliding doors that open from raised living areas onto decks. Tilt the vanes to follow the sun as it moves through the canopy.
Wide fabric panels stack neatly to one side of a long window or door, so the whole outlook opens up when you want it and closes flat when you don't.
Alternating sheer and solid bands let you fine-tune light through the day without raising the blind. Useful in rooms where the brightness keeps changing.
Soft folds of fabric that suit the smaller openings of original bungalows, and bring some warmth to bedrooms and sitting rooms tucked under the trees.
Adjustable slats give you precise control: angle them to block the glare off the water while keeping the leafy outlook in view.
Curtains soften bright rooms and warm up the shaded ones. A sheer by day and a blockout for night covers most Yattalunga living areas in one track.
Sheers blur the glare coming off the water without hiding the green outlook. They won't give you privacy at night on their own, so we usually pair them with a blockout.
Even, rippled folds that stack tidily at the side of the glass, so a view framed by trees stays properly framed.
Heavier lined fabric that shuts out light for sleep and holds warmth in cooler, shadier rooms through winter.
For raised decks, north-facing glass and bedrooms that need a firmer finish, shutters and awnings handle the sun from both sides of the window.
Plantation shutters give you tilt-and-close control over light and privacy, with a clean, fixed look that suits both brick homes and renovated bungalows.
An outdoor awning shades a deck or west-facing glass before the heat reaches the room, so the space under it stays usable through summer afternoons.
Bryn quotes the job, measures every window and installs it himself. Nothing gets lost between the person who took the measurements and the person on the ladder.
We've been fitting blinds and curtains on the Central Coast since 1986, and a fair bit of our work is for customers we first met years ago.
We supply Hunter Douglas, Luxaflex, Silhouette, Silent Gliss, Verosol and Somfy among others, and we'll tell you which suits each window rather than pushing one line.
Tree cover, water glare and raised living areas all change the brief. We recommend fabrics after seeing the room, not from a catalogue.
Every opening is measured on site, older and odd-sized ones included, so the finished product sits neatly in the reveal.
You get a clear, written quote. No inflated sale pricing, no pressure to sign on the day, and no follow-up calls you didn't ask for.
From brick homes on the hill to bungalows near the water, we fit window furnishings right through Yattalunga and the neighbouring suburbs of Saratoga, Green Point, Davistown, and Kincumber. We also supply shutters and awnings, so the rooms and the deck outside them can be sorted by one person.
If you’d like to see fabrics and operating styles in person first, you’re welcome to visit the showroom at 10d Bilinga Road, Kincumber, by appointment. It’s a short drive from Yattalunga and there’s no obligation attached.
Bryn comes to your house, measures each window and talks through options for light, privacy and view. You get a written price, free.
Your blinds or curtains are made to the measurements taken on site, in the fabrics and fittings you chose from the samples.
We install everything, check each blind and curtain operates smoothly, take the old ones away and leave the rooms clean.
New blinds and curtains shouldn’t turn into a long project. One visit to measure, one to install, and a clear price in between.
A sunscreen roller blind, sheer curtain or angled Venetian slats will all cut the glare while keeping the outlook visible. We choose the fabric openness based on how much light that particular window gets.
Yes. Raised living levels and taller openings are normal work for us, and Bryn measures and installs them himself.
Roman blinds and cassette roller blinds both fit neatly into smaller, older reveals. Because everything is measured on site, odd sizes aren’t a problem.
Lined blockout curtains are the most effective option. They cut heat loss through the glass and make a room under heavy tree cover feel noticeably warmer.
Yes. We supply and install outdoor awnings, which block heat before it hits the glass and make the deck more comfortable in the afternoon.
Yattalunga shares a postcode with our Kincumber showroom, so measures are usually easy to book within days. Enquiries get a reply within 24 hours.
Yes. We take down the existing blinds or tracks, install the new ones in the same visit, and take the old ones away.
Yes. A blind you can’t reach tends to be set once and left, so motorisation makes high windows usable. We install Somfy motorisation on selected styles.
Yes. Cordless and motorised systems remove hanging cords altogether, and we recommend them as standard in family homes.
